Buying Guide: Turn your Car Stereo Bluetooth

Improve Your On-The-Go Sound Experience!!

Posted 7 Apr • Music

If you’re fed up with the restrictions of radio and your old CD collection and are ready to blast out your favourite tunes, through your favourite apps whilst on the road - we have you covered!

You don’t need to invest in an expensive new car stereo - you can simply upgrade yours!

All you need is a Bluetooth AUX receiver - an adapter that you connect to the car’s audio system to enable Bluetooth. You can then stream music from your phone wirelessly and even make hands free calls.

You don’t have to compromise on your music taste, audio quality, or your wallet!

Stay wire-free, stay happy, stay safe!

Sounds great, but how does it work?

You simply plug the Bluetooth AUX receiver into the car’s 3.5mm AUX-in connection, pair to your phone and play your music. The AUX-in is the most reliable way to add Bluetooth to your car and produces the best quality sound.

The AUX input can be found in varying positions depending on the make and model of the car. It might be directly in the stereo headset, or you might find it in the glove box or even in the middle console of the car.

If your car’s audio system does not have an AUX connection, this won’t work for you as there won’t be anywhere to connect it.

Instead, you will need an FM Transmitter, which sends the audio to your car stereo via FM radio. This will connect to the phone as soon as you turn the car on, but the handsfree audio quality doesn’t tend to be as good as that produced by the AUX receivers.

So what are the options to turn my car stereo Bluetooth?

We have 3 different Bluetooth AUX receivers that will turn your car stereo Bluetooth. It is worth noting that only the first two have a built-in microphone. The third option won’t accept hands free calls, but is a good solution if you want an adapter with more versatility that can be used between a wider range of devices.

LAYEN C-AUX Bluetooth AUX Receiver

The LAYEN C-AUX is a neat, lightweight receiver that offers wireless music and hands-free calling. The built in microphone means that you can answer phone calls on the go, with one button or via Siri.

It will also always auto-repair to the last used device, so no need to constantly repair every time you use it.

It comes with a rechargeable battery which is fully functional whilst charging. There’s no need to connect to a permanent power source and the battery charges via micro-usb, cable supplied.

The LAYEN C-AUX connects easily to the car’s AUX-in and can also be used to turn your home stereo or wired headphones Bluetooth.

LAYEN BT-AUX Bluetooth Receiver

The LAYEN BT-AUX is very similar, but different in design and style. Apart from that, everything is the same! It offers both wireless music and hands-free calling. The built in microphone means that you can answer phone calls on the go, with one button or via Siri.

LAYEN TX-RX

This is our hidden gem. It’s a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter in one. On the receiver front it can be used to turn your headphones, car stereo or home stereo Bluetooth.

When used in transmitter mode, it can also be used to turn your iPod or TV Bluetooth so you can watch or listen on your Bluetooth headphones or speaker. If you are looking for an adapter that you can use with multiple devices - this is it!

When using the LAYEN RX-TX for your car stereo, bear in mind there is no built-in mic so the hands free calls function is not available as this adapter. If you are looking specifically for your car stereo we’d recommend either of the AUX receivers mentioned above - but if you want a device that does much more - this is it!

Not just for car stereos...

As we’ve already touched upon, these receivers aren’t just for car stereos you can use any of them to turn a home stereo, HiFi or dock Bluetooth as well as any set of wired headphones.

Because they are all small and portable and don’t require a permanent USB source you can easily switch them between your home audio devices.
